Good morning, guys! Today is Good Friday, the day Jesus headed to the cross to change the world forever. (But don’t worry, death couldn’t keep him for long… SPOILER ALERT!) ;-)
Today is another Fab Friday coming your way, when I share all the fabulous things I’m enjoying this week. As always, feel free to jump in; I’d love to hear what you’ve been enjoying lately!
I have been loving these Banana Bread Muffin Bites lately! They’re so easy to pop into the microwave and enjoy them warm with my favorite black tea, or grab a couple on my way out the door for a quick breakfast, (with some fresh fruit and almond milk!)
Jason and I are house hunting! After traveling for the last two years, we are excited at the prospect of finding a place to plant our stakes and hang up some pictures. :-) We’ve been scouring real estate websites, and the best one so far has been Zillow.com. They make it easy to set the parameters of a search, view listing details, view listings by map, and even what houses have sold for nearby. We’ve sent a ton of great Zillow finds to our realtor this week. (I will mention, though: you can almost totally disregard the “Zestimate” values they give for the houses; they all run way too high).
- 12 Years A Slave
This week we watched the movie 12 Years a Slave with my bro and sister-in-law. Wow. It was a very raw and eye-opening movie that did a phenomenal job telling the true story of Solomon Northup, a free African-American who was drugged and sold into slavery in 1841, leaving behind a wife and kids. The movie is of course very graphic, and apart from some very sexual scenes that could probably be skipped, this rated R film reminds us of how important it is for us to stand against the evils of this world and fight for the oppressed. It’s not just the right thing to do, but the Biblical thing, and it’s important to remember that slavery still exists today.
- Crazy Love by Francis Chan
Jason and I read this book “together,” (when he was in Afghanistan and I was in Ecuador). It was a fast read and a fresh look at the God of the Bible and his fierce love for us. I recommend this book to everyone, but especially to someone who may feel stagnant in their relationship and pursuit of God and His will for you.
Well, that’s all I got for this week! What have you been loving lately?
