Howdy, friends. TGIFridayyyy!
My husband helped himself to my snooze button of my 5:45AM alarm this morning… making me a little late to the gym! My workout buddies looked a little different this morning, from these usual gym rats:
The hubs and the bro-in-law… A Marine and Marine-in-training!
To these lovely gals:
Meet Heather and Rachel, the Beckman sisters! I got to know the high school youth group really well when we chaperoned the Myrtle Beach Spring Break trip, so these gals decided to join me at the gym this morning before their first class. :-)
While the boys got their beauty sleep, we created a killer leg and ab workout:
This workout proved to be killer on the quads! But the girls were good sports, and we finished strong.
Thanks ladies for joining me this morning!
This morning was my favorite (and quick!) breakfast smoothie: a kale+banana smoothie!
Along with fresh pineapple and a fried egg, this complete breakfast made for a great start to a Friday.
A verse in this morning’s reading reminded me of an important lesson I learned in college. Check out Isaiah 66:1-2:
This is what the Lord says:
Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
Could you build me a temple as good as that?
Could you build me such a resting place?
2 My hands have made both heaven and earth;
they and everything in them are mine.
I, the Lord, have spoken!
‘I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts,
who tremble at my word.’
Do you know that there is nothing that we can give God that isn’t already His? That doesn’t already belong to Him?
When serving a lot in college and feeling stretched thin between leading Bible studies and the worship band, etc etc, a wise friend pulled me aside and said, “Steph. God doesn’t want your service/time/gifts as much as He wants your heart. Remember that He doesn’t need you to do His work for Him; He just desires to use you.”
QUESTION OF THE DAY
Do you ever get caught up in thinking God needs your money, time, service? Is there anything that you think you are giving Him, when really it’s already His and He has given it to you to be a steward of?
