Thursday’s Q&A – Brittany R.

Howdy, folks.

It’s Thursday!  That means this week’s Q&A is up to the plate:

Meet Brittany R:

Isn’t she cute??  (That’s her husband, so back off, boys ;)

Britt and I met at college in our Campus’s Bible study, (Campus Cru).  It was love at first sight.  :)

Let’s hear from her:

Thursday Q&ABrittany R.

Q: Who is God to you?
To me, God is KING. God is LOVE. There are so many attributes that I love about God, I discover new ones everyday; but most of all, I LOVE that He knows EVERYTHING, and since I definitely do not, and tend to be a worry-wart, it’s nice to know I follow the one who does know all :)  I look at the past couple years and stand in awe as to how much God’s changed my life for the better! I’m always thankful!
Q: Do you have quiet times? If so, when and where do you do them, and what do you study?
I do have quiet times! They’re the best time that I’m able to connect with the Lord :) I usually have my quiet times with a morning cup of coffee on the couch – it’s almost a time of relaxation for me :) I do love reading His word, but I also know that for me to be consistent, I need to mix things up. I will read a book or an article along with digging into the Bible to keep things interesting. I love learning, and it’s so cool that I can come along the same verse at two different points in my life, and the message I get from it can be completely different – which keeps me going!
Q: Have a favorite verse?
I actually have a couple :)

My first and foremost is Psalm 45:11 “The King is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your LORD.” – I love this verse, because I believe that our society tends to form our mindset of what beauty should/shouldn’t look like, and this verse reminds me that our beauty should be seen from the perspective that GOD made us EXACTLY how He wants us to be, which is simply beautiful :)
My second is Romans 12:2 “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good pleasing and perfect will.” It simply reminds me to have an eternal perspective, and that this world is not my home. Which is very powerful to me.
The last one for me is one many know, and something I try to remember in my marriage, my work, and with my family and friends: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self – seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…” It’s something I fail at daily, but it’s also a great reminder of what love actually is, not what our world defines it as!
Q: Do you work out? If so, what’s your routine?
I was a college athlete, so of course I’m working out to stay in shape! For me, it’s also a great stress reliever :) I tend to do a different workout everyday, but I mix up running, cross – fit, traditional lifting, and circuit training. My absolute favorite workout is a kettlebell circuit routine :) Mixing up my styles of workout keeps my workouts interesting, and keeps me from the dreaded ‘plateau’ (a plateau is when your results will not progress because you’re using the same muscles day in and day out) that a person will get if they keep the same routine for three or more weeks! I also love a challenge, so if I feel like I need that, I enlist the help of my husband to challenge me (also lots of competition and FUN!)
Q: If so, what’s your favorite music to work out to?
If it’s at all possible, I love to listen to worship music when I work out, it gives me a reason to do it and keeps my mind on the important things in life.  If the worship music isn’t working, I usually go to Irish music!!
Q: Favorite food or recipe?
I love to cook! Since I went gluten-free about 6+ months ago now, my diet has changed A TON, for the better of course, I love to make  my Protein Pumpkin Pancakes!! and something I like to call a Pumpkin Pie Smoothie :) If you like the taste of Pumpkin, you’ll love these :)
Protein Pumpkin Pancakes: Serves Hubby (eats a LOT to keep up with his workouts) and myself :)
1/2 cup of rolled oats ground (/blended food processed) into a flour like mixture (I use Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Rolled Oats)
1 teaspoon of Baking Powder
1 scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder (I use Sunwarrior Vanilla Warrior Blend, It’s not only Gluten Free, but it’s
also Vegan, and completely plant based, plus it tastes DELICIOUS!!)
2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1 whole egg, 3 egg whites
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
3/4 cup of Pumpkin Puree, I use the Pie Mix instead of adding the spices myself – but either way it’s totally doable!
– also, the pumpkin puree is up to you! You can add as little or as much as you desire :)
*mix it all up in a bowl, throw it on the frying pan*
Pumpkin ‘Pie’ Smoothie
1 sliced banana
1/3 cup of pure pumpkin puree (I don’t use the Pie mix, but you can if you want :))
1/3 cup of plain low fat Greek Yogurt
1 cup of vanilla almond milk
 – add a dash of cinnamon if you want for added flavor!
*blend and enjoy*
Q: What is something that God has done or is doing in your life that you want to share with the world?
God continues to surprise me! I feel like every time I get settled, He changes things :) I am enjoying the journey He is bringing me on, and He’s continually teaching me to TRUST Him. God’s always got my back, and I enjoy living knowing I have a Savior that loves me in ways I can’t comprehend. I’m learning to live in his Love and Grace on a daily journey through life!
